Injectable fillers are in-office procedures with minimal downtime and are an appealing option for patients with early to moderate signs of aging as well as others who are looking for non-surgical options.   Dr. Meier uses them specifically to fill in wrinkles or hollows that occur with aging. Depending upon the injectable, a single session or a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart will accomplish optimum results. Because of his advanced techniques and training, Dr. Meier utilizes them to their maximum effect and in areas not typically injected by the inexperienced injector.  Periorbital injections including correcting the hollow underneath the eyes can have a great benefit that lasts for years.

Most patients require only a topical or local anesthetic for injection.  In-office sessions usually take less than 45 minutes and patients can continue on with their normal routine immediately afterward.

Types of Fillers

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

Restylane-L, Juvederm Ultra XC, Juvederm Ultra Plus XC and Perlane-L are all synthetic, non-animal hyaluronic acid fillers which is a normal component of the skin.  Dr. Meier uses these types of fillers in a variety of areas including lips and often in combination with other fillers to obtain the best results.

Non-hyaluronic Acid Fillers

These fillers are the longer acting fillers and include Radiesse, Sculptra, and Artefill.  Dr. Meier uses these in deeper areas of volume loss including cheeks, jowls, and nasolabial folds.  Silicone and fat transfer are permanent options for volume loss as well.
