Mentoplasty (Chin Augmentation or Reduction)

A well defined chin gives balance to the face especially on profile view.   Conversely, a weak chin may make the nose appear larger than it is.  Facial plastic surgeons, like Dr. Meier, may recommend chin surgery in addition to nose surgery to achieve facial balance and harmony. This is a relatively straightforward procedure that can make a major difference. To correct a weak chin, Dr. Meier uses a very small incision under the chin and places a soft synthetic implant that feels and looks like natural chin.
